WHAT TO EXPECT
All paintings:
Professional artist-grade matte acrylic paint is used. Matte paint provides a beautiful flat appearance, without the glare.
As this is handmade, please expect some small imperfections. Matte paint can sometimes appear uneven in certain lighting conditions, as some pigments settle differently when they dry. All paints are hand mixed colours, which is intentionally mixed loosely, which gives the piece a painterly quality. If you’re looking for absolutely perfect, solid blocks of colour, please ask about digital prints.
Varnishing is not offered, as matte varnish appears filmy and lightens the true colours of the paint. Satin and glossy varnish takes away from the features of the matte paint.
To help your painting looking vibrant during your lifetime, please dust with a dry microfibre cloth. If by chance you need to clean the painting, use a damp microfibre cloth and gently wipe at the spots immediately. Never use any cleaning agent or soap, as this may take the paint away.
The artist’s signature, along with the artist name, artwork title, and year are on the backside of the artwork in acrylic paint.
Birch Panels:
The sides will be finished with black matte (2/3) and heavy body acrylic (1/3) mix to avoid dust settling on the top / sides.
These come ready to hang with wire system installed on the back.
The artist’s signature, full name, year, and artwork title is on the back of the panel.
Please consider hanging in indirect sunlight to avoid discolouration over your lifetime.
Raw Canvas:
Raw canvas is primed with clear gesso and/or clear acrylic gel medium on front and sides. This will protect the raw canvas, but please consider hanging in indirect sunlight.
These come ready to hang with wire system installed on the back.
